"A place for all to pull up a chair and have a cuppa or three and a natter about the silliness of mini-making."-Wendie
"This all started when I was given a new teapot for Christmas. Wendie and I were talking about loose teas and lamenting how all of the miniaturists we know are scattered across the globe. Then it hit me: What if we could have a virtual tea party with our friends? Everyone could be at their computers with a good cuppa and then it wouldn't feel like we were all so far apart..." -Kat

Mini Teapots

I thought you might enjoy this picture of mini teapots. These are just some of the ones I've got stashed away.

Does anyone else have any tea party themed miniatures or scenes they would like to share?

Decisions, decisions!

''It's one of the oddest things... How does one drink four cups of tea at once? I told The Mad HaTTeR it couldn't be done. How silly was I...''

well if I can't decide which cup I want, I shall have to drink them all! although my preference is nearly always a bone china mug, it somehow always tastes better! or is that just a trick of the imagination?

Introductions

For those of you who don't know us yet, I'm MiniKat, and my co-conspirator is Wendie.

A couple of days ago we hatched a crazy plan to try and get as many of our friends from all over the globe to sit and have a cup of tea with us. The trick is we're all separated by great distances. I'm located smack in the middle of the US, whilst Wendiekins is in the UK. There are other challenges too since we have friends in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Portugal, Denmark.... you get the idea I'm sure.

This is where the "virtual" comes into play. We figure if we're all at our computers at the same time we could have a tea party over the Internet. No need to travel unless you want to, everyone can have their drink and snack of choice, no having to clean house... And we can do this as many times as we feel like in a year.

Given the number of time zones some folks could be joining us for breakfast, for elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, or even a cuppa before bed time. No worries if you aren't available at the same time each time either. We'll be figuring out a schedule that will hopefully accommodate as many of our friends as possible each time.

For the moment we were thinking about using Facebook as a way to sit and visit with each other, since many of our blogger friends also use that social networking site. Let us know if you have any other ideas that might work. Wendie and I are sort of winging it for the moment.

One or both of us will be posting more information as we figure things out. Please feel free to leave us ideas or just say hello. :-)
